    The Cotton Alumni Association, with its office at Cotton Alumni Bhawan, Panbazar, Guwahati-781001, is a prestigious organisation dedicated for fostering meaningful connections between distinguished alumni, the present students, esteemed faculty members of Cotton University (erstwhile Cotton College). Our association extends its reach across the globe through various local chapters, creating a robust network of former students who share a deep bond with their roots. With a focus on our students’ academic, intellectual and socio-cultural enhancement, our association actively supports academic planning, research and development across diverse fields, including Science and Technology, Humanities, Social Sciences and Cultural Studies.

    We take immense pride in our role as a bridge between generations, encouraging the exchange of professional knowledge and experience from eminent alumni to current students. Our dedication to social welfare encompasses institutional support and community outreach – from providing scholarship programmes for underprivileged students of our institution to extending relief assistance to flood-affected communities, etc. Our involvement extends beyond academics to encompass sports, games, and cultural activities, ensuring our revered institution’s comprehensive growth and enhancement.     Established in 1901

    Cotton College, which later became Cotton University, was established in 1901 by Sir Henry Stedman Cotton, the Chief Commissioner of the erstwhile British province of Assam.

    The Cotton Alumni Bhawan, situated in the heart of Guwahati at Panbazar, stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Cotton University (erstwhile Cotton College) and its distinguished alumni. The construction of this prestigious facility was made possible through the generous contributions from the MPLAD (Members of Parliament Local Area Development) funds of several parliamentarians.

    Notable contributions came from Cotton alumni Ripun Borah and Bhubaneswar Kalita (both former and current Member of Rajya Sabha respectively), along with Biswajit Daimary, a non-alumnus of Cotton College (Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly, Former Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha), demonstrating the broader support and recognition of Cotton University (erstwhile Cotton College)’s significance beyond its immediate community.
